Parts Inventory

Over $1,000,000 in common parts, on the shelf

Dwell time is the enemy. Every day a railcar sits in a shop, it bleeds money. We keep the most common railcar parts in stock so the fix starts the moment the car arrives. No waiting on a supplier, no cars parked while a purchase order clears.

Why the stockroom matters

Stock on hand means cars back in service fast

A repair is only as fast as its slowest part. When the component you need has to be ordered, the railcar waits. And the meter keeps running for the owner. We carry a deep inventory of the parts that come up most often in routine and unscheduled repair so our crews reach for the shelf, not the phone.

That inventory is worth over one million dollars. It covers the wear items, brake components, running gear and structural parts that keep railcars sidelined when they are not on hand. Having them ready is the difference between a car that turns around the same visit and one that sits.

More than $1,000,000 in common railcar parts, stocked and ready to move the moment your car is on our track.

Hard-to-get parts, made in-house

Supply chains break. When a part becomes hard to source, waiting is not an option for a railcar that needs to move. We built our own fabrication department in direct response to supply chain issues, so the parts that would otherwise hold up a repair get made here.

With a CNC Plasma Table, a Baykal 132-Ton Press Brake, an Edwards 55-Ton Iron Worker, a DoAll Vertical Band Saw, a Grizzly 3616 Milling and Drilling Machine, and a Clausing Metal Lathe, we cut, form and finish components on site. From routine wear parts to the ones you simply cannot buy fast enough.

Stock first, fabricate second. Most repairs pull straight from the stockroom. For the parts that are back-ordered, discontinued or hard to source, our fabrication department fills the gap rather than letting the railcar wait on someone else’s schedule.

Deep, common inventory

The parts that come up most in routine and unscheduled repair are stocked in volume, so our crews start work immediately instead of ordering and waiting.

In-house fabrication

When a part is hard to get, we make it. Cut, formed and finished on our own machines rather than left on order.

Facility and mobile

Parts move with the work. Our fixed facility in Mt Pleasant and our fully equipped mobile trucks both draw on the same inventory to get cars back in service fast.
